St. Patrick's day this year turned out to be relatively warm for Boston, so the staff at Boston Homestel and some guests went for a little trip into South Boston to attend the St. Patty's day Parade.
Group outings like this really highlight why staying in a hostel when you are traveling alone can be really fun. There's a social and communal aspect that's unmatched by any hotel, motel, or bed and breakfast.
The parade drew in large crowds that wanted to experience a little bit of Irish culture. There were performers and floats with a wide range.
From Irish stepdance
To bagpipes
To different bagpipes
And everyone from Mayor Walsh
To notorious celebrity and fighter Conor McGregor
And of course, the crowd is sometimes invited to join in.
All in all, it was a fun activity not so far from the Homestel.
